Fixed orthodontic braces are the most effective means of correcting orthodontic irregularities. In simple terms, the braces serve to straighten a patient’s dental arch and return each individual tooth to its optimal position, solving a problem that is not only aesthetic but primarily functional. The fixed appliance consists of a system of brackets, which are attached to the teeth by a process called bonding, and an orthodontic wire that is fastened through the brackets. After examination, diagnostic procedures, presentation of the treatment plan, the fixed appliance is placed, followed by periodic check-ups at intervals of 4/6/8 weeks, depending on the stage of treatment.
